Robert Cameron has been working on land molluscs for sixty years. While one track has been the study of polymorphism in the land snail Cepaea, the other has been the composition and richness of land snail communities in many parts of the world, including Poland, Ukraine, Romania, Georgia, Greece, the UK, and the Portuguese islands of Madeira and the Azores. Further afield, he has done the same in Australia and Canada. His work has included studies of Quaternary fossil faunas. Apart from many papers, involving co-authors from at least twenty countries, he is the author or co-author of identification guides and of the New Naturalist volume “Slugs and Snails”.
