Diana Delicado’s research delves into the systematics, biogeography, and macroevolution of freshwater gastropods, with a special focus on the Hydrobiidae, the most diverse family in this group. Unraveling the species diversity and distribution of these tiny and cryptic snails presents significant challenges, yet it is essential to applying these fields. To address this, she employs a comprehensive array of molecular and morphological techniques for species delimitation, establishing a robust taxonomic framework crucial for further investigations into hydrobiid biodiversity patterns and evolutionary processes. Over the years, she has pursued her multifaceted scientific journey at esteemed institutions such as the National Museum of Natural Sciences (Spain), the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History (U.S.A.), and the Justus Liebig University Giessen (Germany).
